Homer and Apu's relationship goes way back. In their teen years, Homer and Apu did some experimenting, and they seemed to like it. It continued into their adulthood and they kept it a secret from their families.

Homer and Apu did a little experimenting in college. And that has secretly carried on into their adulthood, even keeping it a secret from their families. One night, Homer arrives at the Kwik-E-Mart for some "sugar". Apu gladly offers his customer some sweet brown chocolate. Homer's mouth waters and gladly takes the "package". Caught up in the passion, Apu forgets that the cameras are watching everything and the next day his wife sees everything on the security film. She kicks him out of the house. Apu wanders the night not knowing what to do and winds up at Homer's house. Homer is secretly glad, now they can be together more often. He makes a move while Apu is in this saddened state. Apu realizes that Homer only wants him for sex, and that outrages him. Apu snaps and strangles Homer.
