Marge is out running some errands with Maggie when she runs into trouble. She is jumped by a junkie and things don't turn out well. She is murdered. The police arrive at the Simpsons home to tell Homer the bad news. He is crushed, but when he learns that Maggie was still alive, this gives him a little hope. A month passes, and life has gotten much more difficult. Work is terrible, but he holds on for Maggie. He's now a single father and is responsible for Maggie. He does everything he can for her. At night, after he tucks Maggie in and puts her to bed, Homer retreats to his room and crys himself to sleep alone in front of the television.
