The story begins with Bart having just recently passed away. Homer is devastated, and slowly goes crazy. He goes over the edge, when he thinks a plastic baby doll is his baby, and thus is institutionalized at the Calmwood Mental Hospital. A few weeks later, Homer calms down is back to normal, he is certified not insane. A year later, Homer's life goes back to normal, and he decides he should adopt a child to get over the passing of Bart. He is granted Homer Junior, or Hoju for short and his happy life begins a new stage. Shortly after, Homer finds he still misses Bart and starts to relapse into his crazy state. He totally loses grip with reality, and Hoju is a burden to him. So he does the unthinkable. He gets rid of the "trash" by burning it at the Springfield Tire Fire. The story ends with Homer playing with a hand-made replica of Bart.
