Homer is on his way pick up Grandpa from the Springfield Retirement home. When he arrives, Grandpa is in a grumpy mood and doesn't want to go so Homer does it by force. On the drive they get into a heated argument, the rage leads to physical abuse and that pushes Homer over the edge. Blinded by his rage, Homer threatens to drive into a tree, and goes through with the threat! The crash leaves Grandpa injured but still alive, so instead of having to deal with any of the blowback, Homer finishes the job, ending their long turbulent relationship. At the funeral, Homer falls asleep, there is zero guilt on his conscience.
